Brazil: NFC orange juice exports rise; FCOJ sales to the EU decline

Total orange juice shipments from Brazil (fresh and concentrated combined) increased in the 2025/26 season compared to the previous. NFC orange juice exports rose to all destinations, while FCOJ shipments increased mainly to the United States but dropped to the European Union, according to Secex data.

Exports totaled 806.7 thousand tons in the 2025/26 season, up 4 % from the previous season. The United States and the European Union each accounted for 45 % of the total shipments.

Despite the increase in export volume, export revenue declined by 27.3 % in the same comparison, from USD 3.48 billion in the previous season to USD 2.53 billion in 2025/26.

However, considering the different product categories, trends were distinct. As for NFC, exports rose 12.7 % from the previous season, totaling 347.1 thousand tons. Shipments to both the United States and the European Union increased, indicating relatively firm demand for less processed products. Revenue, in turn, declined 11.8 % in 2025/26, totaling USD 1.051 billion.

US tariffs – Although the list of products exempt from the tariffs imposed by the United States has recently been revised, orange juice remains on the exemption list.

In the 2025/26 season, Brazilian orange juice exports to the US increased by 16.3 % compared to the previous crop, considering both NFC and frozen concentrated orange juice (FCOJ and other orange juices), expressed in FCOJ equivalent.

As orange juice remains on the exemption list, shipments are expected to continue performing well, reinforcing Brazil’s position as the country’s leading supplier. The decision is also positive for other citrus products, such as citrus pulp and essential oils, most of which have also been included in the exemption list, according to CitrusBR.
