According to experts' estimations, exports of apple juice concentrate from China decreased by 18 % or 94,000 tonnes in the first half of 2010. Overall exports of apple juice concentrate reached 430,000 tonnes for 6 months that is the lowest result for the last 2 years. According to analysts of Fruit-Inform, decrease of exports of apple juice concentrate from China enabled to stabilize a situation with prices at global market of this product of high importance for juice business.
USA are the major purchaser of Chinese apple juice concentrate, as half of supplies are sent to this country. This market is enough stable: purchasing volumes didn't practically change comparatively with the previous year. The second major purchaser is Russia, but it shares only 10 % of exports of Chinese apple juice concentrate. The key purchasers are also Japan, Canada, Australia and Netherlands. Supplies of Chinese apple juice concentrate significantly decreased in Germany that is among major market outlets of this product.
According to forecast of special weekly periodical for fruit and vegetable processors of Fruit-Inform (“Processor” service package), in the season 2010/2011, it will be advantageously for Ukrainian and Russian apple producers to harvest unmarketable apples and fruit drop for selling them for processing, as due to growth of prices for apple juice concentrate, purchasing prices for apples increased too.
