Major Sustainability Appointment At APPE

Leading PET container manufacturer APPE (formerly Artenius PET Packaging Europe) is co-ordinating its many sustainability initiatives with the appointment of Billy Jansen as Group QSE & Sustainability Manager.

Mr Jansen takes on the additional role of setting and implementing group policies and procedures and providing relevant customer information on all areas of sustainability alongside his existing responsibilities for quality, safety and environmental matters. He brings to the role over 30 years’ experience within the PET packaging market.

APPE is already a key contributor to the growing demand for sustainable solutions in all areas of packaging, with major initiatives such as product light-weighting programmes, its dedicated PET recycling plant in Beaune, France and its work on the incorporation of rPET into its containers. At the same time, the company continues to take steps to further reduce its own energy consumption and improve its carbon footprint.
